The restaurant with the two faces

If you start a research about the Fuyuan on the Internet, you will mainly find two opinions. On the one side, there are people (mainly Chinese) that love the authentic Sichuan food there. On the other side, there is a big group of people that call the food unspectacular and too fat.

Why is that so? The answer for this can be found on the menu, on which you can find all kinds of standard food that you could eat in any arbitrary Chinese restaurant. In the evening, they offer a very cheap menu for 9.90 Euro which includes not only a starter but also two main dishes. The lunch menu is very cheap as well. However, you should not let the prices blind you. The real delicacies are located on the menu where the descriptions are enriched with Chinese characters. These dishes are a little bit more expensive than the standard food but much more delicious and authentic.

A special service of the restaurant is that you can preorder your favorite food even if it is not on the menu. If possible, they will prepare it for you if you ask early enough. In the Fuyuan, the slogan should be: When you are in the Fuyuan, eat what the Chinese eat.
