Eat Pho and roll your own spring rolls

Pho 79 is an interesting name, which is basically impossible to pronounce for Europeans. No, you neither say "fo" nor "po" and there is no "o" in the pronunciation of this word. Additionally, it is not possible to write the word with this keyboard.

The name of this place is derived from Phở, a Vietnamese soup, which, and you will find this written all over the place and in the menu, is cooked for a long time, sometimes up to 24 hours. The number refers to the street number of the restaurant.

Therefore, it is not surprising that you can find several variations of this dish on the menu, ranging from very traditional versions with beef to variants with duck. Each soup can be ordered small (from 5.90 Euro) or big (from 7,90 Euro) depending on your hunger (last checked: February 25, 2011).

But the Pho 79 is not limited to soup. The specialties of the house that you roll yourself are worth a try as well. That is, you order the ingredients and the rice paper for spring rolls and literally roll them yourself. This is not only delicious but also an interesting and fun experiency. The prices seem high but two people will easily be full.

Besides these and other special dishes (like Vietnamese hot pot and Banh Xeo, which you should order one day in advance), the Pho 79 also offers more European friendly dishes like duck in sweet sour sauce.
